BATTERSEA, London

Wandsworth's most fashionable address. Once strictly a working class suburb with a rough reputation, Battersea has successfully reinvented itself to true trendy status in just a generation. Riverside warehouses have given way to plush, modern apartments with great views and serious prices to match. Inland, Victorian terraces predominate as well ex-council blocks, largely bought up by their residents under the right-to-buy schemes of the Tory's and who have now laughed all the way to the bank.
